So, you're probably here because you like what you see? I'd love to hear from you about working together, whether it be an exciting design project, or a photography session or event — let's talk about your vision or what would you like captured. Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions, or just to enquire — I'm happy to help.
How do I book a shoot, and what’s involved?
You can send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org, txt or call me on 0279497329 or head to facebook.com/EliseCreativeNZ and have a chat with me there. We will have a chat about what kind of shoot you’d like to book, what’s involved, and decide on a location, time, and date that suits both of us. You’ll need to make your payment for the shoot no later than 48 hours before the time of the session in order for us to proceed with the booking. You’ll also need to sign an agreement which outlines what’s expected of you, and me, before, during, and after the session.
How and when will I receive my photos?
I always deliver digital photos in either Google Drive or Dropbox — this way we have a permanent copy of all your photos that you can download to your device, or keep safe in the cloud. Cloud folders also allow me to get your photos to you much faster than USB.
Prints will be posted to you within 2 weeks of your shoot if you have requested these. The 2 week period begins from when you have made your selections for which images you’d like as prints.
Turn around times for Digital photos is 3-10 business days, this excludes Business head shots, which are delivered within 48 hours of your shoot.
If you don’t have access to google drive or dropbox, we can arrange a USB delivery which you will receive approximately 2 weeks after your session or event.
Can I have all my Raw files?
The answer is almost always no — unless we have made special arrangements for you to receive raw (unedited) files, wether this be photos or video, you will only receive the agreed amount of edited photos from your package. Raw files are unprocessed photos — think of the negatives from a film camera, these photos can only be processed or even viewed using professional photo editing software. I sort through all the photos from our shoot in a RAW format, and decide which ones to keep and edit as finals, and convert them in to JPEG images ready for you to view and print. As for video files, the situation is similar — only the files required for the final video will be used. In the case of both photography and video, RAW files remain under copyright to Elise Creative, however you have full rights to use your final edited images for any personal purposes.
When should we book for our Wedding?
I always say, as soon as you know the date, and you’ve booked your venue — book your photographer! If you’re getting married on a Saturday between September and April (New Zealand), book ASAP, as these dates fill up very fast. If we’re good to go with your date, you’ll need to read and sign a contract with Elise Creative, as well as pay a 20%, non refundable* deposit to secure your date. No date is secured without a contract and deposit, however you can be pencilled in unless another couple is inquiring about the same date.
Even if you think you’ve left it a bit too late to find a photographer, just get in touch, and I’ll see what I can do for you! If your date isn’t free, I can point you in the direction of a handful of amazing photographers & Videographers that I highly recommend!
Do you travel for Weddings?
Travel for Weddings is free within 2 hours of the Wellington CBD — the cost of travel and accomodation is additional for any other destination. Travel is charged at $45p/h within New Zealand and accomodation can be kept a cheap as possible, as long as we have a secure, private place to keep our gear with us. Going further afield? We’re keen!
The hours included in your Wedding coverage begin from us arriving at your first location of the day, and include travel times between venues. Please consider this when choosing your wedding collection, especially if you have two venues that have a larger travel distance between them.
Who owns the copyright to the images or video?
**You will always be asked to sign a contract which outlines the specific terms and conditions of copyright to your individual session or project**
The copyright always remains with Elise Creative, but you have full use of the images for personal and private use. You can share photos on social media, and print them as many times as you like, as long as you’re not using the photos or video to directly make a profit e.g entering the photos into a photography competition and winning a prize, or selling the photos, prints or video to anyone. This doesn’t apply if you’re using the images or video for professional use, e.g you’re a model who uses the images in their portfolio to get paid work, but if you sold the images to a magazine or publication, this would be a breach of copyright.
If you’re planning to use the images for anything other than personal enjoyment, such as having a photo of you and your family put in the newspaper, or a brochure for a business you need to contact me first to make sure this is ok.
Copyright changes when you’re booking Elise Creative for business assets. There are many options when it comes to copyright in a business context, such as buying full rights to the images and work, meaning Elise Creative can only use this work in their portfolio, and not in any other context.
Please inquire with me for any questions or concerns you have about how copyright affects your images, video or design by Elise Creative.
Can I edit my own images or video?
I include editing in every service I offer — the editing style in both photos and video is unique to Elise Creative, and I consider it to be as much a part of the product you’re buying as the shoot itself. I put great time and care into editing my work, and what you receive at the end is a finished piece. This means you won’t be able to edit or alter your photos or video once you have received them, or receive any unedited photos to alter. This includes any filters or alterations in photo editing software — I’m always happy to make changes for you where appropriate.
Do you require contracts or deposits?
The only time you WON’T have to sign a contract is if you’ve booked an actors head shot session or business portraits session. All other services preformed by Elise Creative require you to sign a contract which outlines what’s expected of both parties before, during, and after the session or project. I’ve never had to refer back to a contract with any client, but it’s there, just incase we ever need it, even just to clarify.
We only require deposits for weddings, and these are 20% of your total package. These must be paid upon booking to lock in your date. Deposits are non refundable as you are reserving a date that we cannot book another wedding. You can always change your date (which is very rare), or take a credit to use on any other service offered by Elise Creative.
